The Problem
We had three product teams, each with their own button styles, color palettes, and spacing systems. Designers were recreating components from scratch for every project. Engineers were writing CSS that contradicted itself across apps.
The Approach
I audited every interface across all three products, cataloged over 200 unique components, and identified the 40 that overlapped. From there I built a shared Figma library and a matching React component library with full accessibility support.
The Results
Design-to-dev handoff time dropped by 60%. New features that used to take two sprints were shipping in one. The system is now maintained by a dedicated team of two.
"This is the first design system I've worked with that engineers actually want to use."
